I’m a Muslim, I’ve finished the Quran, memorized it to some extent, and was taught Arabic by my father whose teaches it for a living. So I heavily listened and re-listened to the little snippet over and over and with my very decent understanding of Arabic, I personally think that her song does in fact consist a small verse from Surah 78 An-Naba, at Ayat 32 and it reads: حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا.
Now with that said, this does not mean I will stop supporting CL nor does it make it okay for anyone, under any circumstances, to be sending death threats and hateful comments towards CL. The girl has done nothing wrong and if you want to push the blame towards someone, then please direct it away from CL and instead point it at those responsible for sampling, composing, and arranging the song. Also, let’s all just take a really deep and calming breath and just wait for YG/Teddy to release some sort of official statement.
Q:hi eve! i'm surprised that you're a muslim. anyway, this whole CL MTBD fuss is really hurts me in both side. I am a muslim and big fan of CL. I hate to see her getting all the hate but also embarrassed by the death threat she's getting from my muslim fellow.
Most people don’t know much about me because I rarely give out info about myself, dear anon. But I can completely see where you’re coming from since CL is my bias of all biases and it hurts to see her put down for something that was not in her power. And the fact that a certain group of people are leaving CL death threats just showcases how little they know about their own religion when in fact, the Quran specifically talks about how important good manners are and how we are to deal kindly and justly with non-Muslims.
don’t mistreat people who are sincerely kind
don’t use them for their generosity
and for fuck’s sake don’t take them for granted expecting them to always be there because they’re nice
good-natured people can be worn down so much that even they can become jaded
treat these people right
Maybe I was too good for you
